Using Creative Visualization to Achieve Success

Our minds are the most complex machines on the earth, and we are only beginning to understand the immense power that it holds.

One unique and remarkable ability of our minds is its ability to imagine future scenarios in rich detail to help improve our performance and manifest our greatest wants and desires.

How to Visualize

You have to first start by establishing a goal; then you can begin to focus on creating an image in your mind of you accomplishing that goal, in detail.

A basic technique involves sitting comfortably with your eyes closed while you imagine yourself achieving a specific goal or dream in as much detail as possible.

Setting aside time each day can help you make this critical routine into a habit.

It is imperative for successful visualizing that you feel how you would feel once you have achieved your goal.

Here are a few adjectives to get you started:

  • Accomplished
  • Empowered
  • Vibrant
  • Free
  • Loved

If you have trouble with this, try to remember a time in your life when you were acknowledged for something you did.

Maybe you won the spelling bee. Maybe you turned in an A+ paper and were acknowledged at the front of the class. Any time you felt really good about yourself. Find that feeling again and use it while you visualize your goals.

The more you practice, the quicker your goals and dreams will manifest into reality.

Utilize Vision Boards

Many people swear by this simple visualization technique.

To utilize vision boards in your creative visualization process, take some time to cut out pictures from newspapers or magazines that represent the goals you want to achieve.

Then use those images to create a collage of images that showcase what you want to accomplish in your life. Hang it in a prominent place in your home where you’ll see it every day. Or make a digital one on free Canva.

Recite Daily Affirmations

Daily affirmations can help you build your confidence, as well as clearly lay out your goals. Affirmations are short, positive statements that you want to be true for you.

Choose positive statements that will lift you up and break the barriers that are keeping you from the life you want to lead.

For example, if you feel that you are struggling to lose weight, you might recite “I believe in myself and my ability to succeed”.

List Your Goals

When you are setting your goals and thinking about what you most desire, it can help to write your goals and desires down.

Writing these things down will help you to focus on precisely what it is you want so that you can work toward accomplishing those goals in a purposeful direction.

You can choose to focus on a few of your more important goals, or you can create a long list of your top 25 desires on a weekly or monthly basis.

Try to create goals in each of these four categories:

  • Family & Relationships
  • Career (job)
  • Finances (income/investing/saving money)
  • Personal Growth or Health & Fitness

You can be working on more than one goal at a time (recommended). Some goals will be easy to accomplish, while others will take a few months or years. If if you just start working towards a goal by doing research, it will help.

3 Powerful Visualization Exercises

Creative visualization is the process where you see things in your mind how you would like them to be in reality.

People of all walks of life, from professional athletes to Fortune 500 CEOs have found the creative visualization process helpful for achieving their desires and accomplishing their goals. Effective visualization requires you to imagine precise details.

It isn’t good enough to just see yourself in your new home.

You have to provide that mental image the particular information, like where the new house is located, how many rooms it has, or what color the house will be.

Try to do a ‘walk through’ of your ideal home, going from room to room to room. And don’t forget the garage, front yard, back yard, swimming pool etc.

It is important to know that the clearer your mental image, the more real it will become. Here are three powerful visualization techniques that you can try to help you manifest your greatest desires.

The Mental Movie

Think about what would be included if you were to make a movie about your life.

What would it be like? This particular technique requires you to act as the director of the film of your life where anything and everything is possible.

You get to create the scenery, the plot, and the characters that are included in your film. You become the start of your movie, and every single detail that is included in the movie is up to you to determine.

A Party in Your Honor

Imagine, for a moment, that your whole community has come out to honor you. Yay! What kind of things do you want people to say about you at this party?

Think about people coming up to a microphone, one by one, to gush about how you changed their life in some way.

This creative visualization technique allows you to determine exactly what you want to be said about you, and what an amazing person you are. Use visualization to think about wonderful things that you can be honored for:

  • Huge cash donations to cash-strapped charities
  • Wise advice that you gave to someone at the exact right time
  • An inspiring talk that you gave to high-school students

You get the idea. Think about what you want your life to look like.

The script that you ultimately write will highlight your career, your friends, and your family. It will point out all of your strengths and your successes. You can picture yourself in any manner that you want and use this technique to define the essential things in your life.

The Letter to a Friend

This visualization technique has you writing a letter to your closest friend, but rather than the usual format, you will be projecting how you see yourself in five or ten years.

When you write the letter, picture yourself as having already accomplished everything you want in your life, being as specific as possible.

Regardless of the technique that you chose to practice your creative visualization, you want to be sure to practice regularly. By utilizing one of these powerful techniques, you will see your results skyrocket while manifesting everything you want and desire.

4 Simple Steps to Perfect Your Visualization

The creative visualization process can help you in all aspects of your life, whether you want to lose weight, get a promotion at work, improve your health, or become successful.

To activate the visualization process, you don’t need to believe in any faith, metaphysical, or spiritual ideas; you just need to believe that the process will work for you.

This is why setting goals is important; you want to know what the end result is supposed to be so that you can focus on how you will feel when you get it.

For example, if your goal is to lose weight:

  • How much weight do you want to lose?
  • What is the timeline for the weight loss? You should choose a calendar date.
  • How do you want to feel when you have reached your goal?

When setting goals, do not worry about ‘how’ you will achieve them. Just get behind the ‘why’ that you want to achieve the goal.

When you start praciticing visualization regularly, you will start to get ideas and ‘nudges’ from God/universe/source about next steps. Pay attention to these nudges and try them out. This is your intuition telling you what the right path for you is.

You do not want to be locked in to a specific path to your goal. Just let things unfold, and focus on how you will feel when you achieve your goal.

1. Establish Your Goal

Figure out what you want to have, who you want to be, or what goal you want to achieve.

It can be finding a new love, landing a better job, or finding success in your business. If you start small, you can create a few wins and witness how powerful visualization can be in attaining your heart’s desires.

This is especially effective in eliminating procrastination.

2. Create a Detailed Picture of Attaining the Goal

You need to create a mental scene of your desired outcome as if it has already been achieved, being sure to visualize it as happening now.

As you imagine the scene playing out:

What do you see, hear, feel?

For example, you might be visualizing yourself after losing weight.

  • Imagine shopping for new clothing and visualizing the feel of clothing you are taking off the rack.
  • Or maybe looking at yourself in the mirror wearing a super cute outfit that looks amazing on you.
  • Visualize what is moving in the picture and what is remaining still.

You need to include as many sensual details as you can for this process to be effective.

When you imagine yourself achieving the desired goal, or performing the desired activity, make sure that you are looking at it from your own perspective, rather than as an outside observer.

3. Focus and Then Repeat

Add extra power to your visualization with repetition.

Set the alarm on your phone and place yourself in your scene several times a day.

Integrate the feelings of your imagined “current” reality during the day and at night.

Doing this will help the scene become more natural and evident to your brain and desired reality will increasingly feel as though it is already your reality.

4. Add Some Positive Energy

While you are focusing on your goal, add in some positive and encouraging vibes.

Make strong positive statements to yourself. Tell yourself that your goal exists, that you have already achieved it, and that it is good.

Now, add your own positive emotions like laughter, and celebrate the win as it occurs in your imagination.

The best way you can get better at creative visualization is by practicing it daily.

5 Ways to Make Creative Visualization More Fun

You probably already know how critical it is to use the power of images to assist in your manifestations.

However, if you’ve left your creative mind languishing for too long, you may need a bit of help to get started. A little bit of imagination can go a long way in making creative visualization exercises fun. Try these tips to add some fun into the visualizing mix.

1. Create a Spark from A Single Idea

You don’t need to have a clear picture at first to make creative visualization work for you.

A single idea is just excellent to start the process. Allow your imagination the freedom to follow your heart wherever it leads you.

Don’t overthink the process or analyze it, or feel like you need to restrict yourself when you are visualizing the things that you desire.

2. Set Aside Some Time

When you realize that your thoughts become a reality, you will start to understand how critical it is to set some time aside for the visualization process.

What I mean by “your thoughts become a reality” is that when you are focused on the things that are really aligned with you are, as a person, things will start to unfold in your life that leads you to that outcome. #woowoo.

When you have the time to apply concepts that are aligned with the natural laws of attraction, you will start to find the process of manifesting what you desire a lot easier. This means that the time you devote to doing creative visualizations is always beneficial.

3. Relax into Your Session

Even if you have set aside some time for the process, it can be a challenge to have a good visualization session if you are feeling tense and uptight.

You need to start each session by making yourself comfortable. Practice some deep breathing to calm your nervous system and allow yourself to relax.

As you get into a deeper state of relaxation, you’ll notice that it is far easier to invoke the powers of your creative abilities.

4. Visualize in Different Ways

Your creative visualization process doesn’t have to be the same thing over and over again.

When it comes to the creative visualization process, the only rule is that anything goes.

You can visualize working at the perfect job, or you can imagine telling your friends about how much you love your new job. Experiment with the different ways that you can use creative visualization to keep things fun.

5. Connect with Your Feelings

The only way you can get your mental picture to come alive is by connecting with your feelings during the process.

Don’t just create an image in your mind without aligning it with your emotions and heart’s desire. When you can get connected with your heart center, your mental screen lights up with vibrancy and possibility.

The creative visualization process doesn’t have to be boring; you can make the process of manifesting your heart’s desire fun and rewarding.

Conclusion

Lately I have been focused on daily visualizing for more money…and it’s working! I am getting surprise cheques, and rebates that are much larger than I was expecting. I am also getting surveys that payout points that I can convert to cash.

The thing with manifesting is that once you get the ball rolling, it is much easier to stick with it. That is because you will be more tuned in to ‘seeing’ things manifesting in your life like:

  • Coupons for great free stuff
  • Or your friend wants to go for lunch at a place that serves the food that fits your current way of eating.
  • A big overnight weight loss aka ‘the whoosh’

You may have seen things like that before and just thought it was your lucky day. But by practicing visualization daily, you can make all of your days ‘lucky’
